I worked with Melon Local since their inception—practically since they were just an itty bitty seedling. Over the past few years, Melon Local has grown from a four person operation to a thriving startup focused on delivering fresh leads through digital marketing for insurance agents.

Melon Local is after a very specific audience, and it’s one I had no prior experience with (insurance agent whobewhaty?). It was a challenge to learn what their target audience needed and how to deliver high-quality content that solved common pain points. Through industry, competitor, and SEO research as well as interviews with agents, I determined the right tone to speak to this underserved category.

Working with a small team new to the industry gave me a lot of freedom to develop a brand voice and personality for Melon Local. Starting with their website, I channeled the youth and excitement of their team into copy that balanced professionalism and playfulness. An homage to the founding team, clients will find the customer experience will match the tone of digital marketing assets, creating harmony between the two.
